Ignorance isn’t bliss. When it comes to the things we purchase – items we touch, carry, wear and interact with each day – knowing where they came from and what they’re made of is always better than not knowing.
Joy Susan’s vegan leather bags are made of 100% pure polyurethane (PU), a synthetic material with no animal products or by-products whatsoever. It’s a material that Joy Susan are experienced in working with, and out of many artificial leather options, polyurethane’s rich texture and versatility give it the edge. Some vegan leathers, for example, incorporate fibrous hides in an attempt to simulate a more leather-like feel. At Joy Susan, they never do this – and they never have to, because with expert design and careful attention to details, it’s difficult to tell their bags from genuine leather.
As you enter the store you will be greeted by a symphony of scents...candles and lotions and soaps, all to soothe. Further exploration reveals jewelry and accessories, gifts for the newborn, home decor, general gifts, and greeting cards and stationery.

Of course, people always want to know where the name Timbalier comes from. Spike is from New Orleans originally and he and his parents frequently went fishing on Timbalier, a barrier island off the coast of Louisiana. On one trip, his mother caught an exceptionally large redfish, which presented a great photo-op. The resulting picture of his parents is his favorite one of them and provides lasting memories of his parents and a place called Timbalier.
